CRQ12430718-M247-Milan DC-SAF-Power Systems Preventive D06 Rack Maintenance

Start: Wed, Sep 30th 2026, 00:00
End: Wed, Sep 30th 2026, 05:00

Dear partners,

We would like to inform you, with full transparency, that during recent advanced checks performed by the monitoring systems in the Milan Data Center, several variations were identified which, if left unaddressed, could impact the long term stability of the services.
Our systems detected load anomalies on the power circuits, as well as thermal fluctuations around rack D06. These indicators point to a potential risk of overheating or instability on the UPS/PDU power lines, and a preventive intervention is the safest approach to avoid an unplanned incident. Additionally, the safety audit highlighted minor non conformities within the thermal protection systems and optical paths which, under high load conditions, could lead to gradual performance degradation.

M247 did not directly initiate these interventions, however, as a responsible operator, we are required to follow the technical directives issued by the data center team to ensure the continuity and safety of your services. Their recommendations were defined as mandatory preventive measures, based on the risks identified around rack D06. The decision to schedule these works was taken to prevent any incident that could affect our customers’ operations.

To protect your services and maintain the high resilience standards of the infrastructure, a physical intervention in the affected racks is necessary. This will include:
• recalibration of the UPS/PDU circuits
• optimization of airflow and adjustment of cooling components
• verification and correction of thermal safety systems
• rearrangement and recalibration of fiber optic paths

The interventions will take place during the following UTC windows:
• Rack D06: 29.09.2026, 21:00 UTC – 30.09.2026, 02:00 UTC
(estimated downtime within this window: ~2.5h)
Please note that during the estimated maintenance window (2.5h), the servers will remain without power.

We understand the impact these works may have on your operations, and we want to assure you that this decision was made solely to prevent significantly higher risks. Our teams will monitor all activities in real time and will work closely with the Data Center engineers to minimize any inconvenience.

Thank you for your understanding and continued cooperation. The safety and stability of your services remain our top priority.

Kind regards,
M247 NOC Team
